Rick Joi is the world’s leading work anniversary expert.

Rick Joi spent over a decade working with companies that care a lot about their workplace cultures as one of the four original partners at Energage, the company behind the regional Top Workplaces programs throughout the United States.

Rick started at Energage as a software engineer, but his role evolved to include product discovery, consulting, and being Energage’s Chief Innovation Officer — leading Energage to receive ten patents.

Rick worked directly with scores of both Top Workplaces and organizations aspiring to be Top Workplaces. He gained a deep understanding of workplace culture, its value, and the many ways that it’s not simple.

As a former software engineer, he has a higher-than-typical drive for efficiency. As an innovator, he is always on the look-out for low-cost, high-impact solutions.

With those two lenses, work anniversaries stood out. It was clear they were very high leverage moments, but even the most employee-focused of companies were still having trouble, and often in ways that were very inexpensive to fix.

That insight led to found The Workiversary Group with the mission to dramatically improve work anniversaries for hundreds of millions of workers around the world, as well as the recently released book, Inspiring Work Anniversaries.
